Toronto Fashion Week S/S14 – Highlights

Die größte Stadt Kanadas, Toronto, wurde in den letzten Tagen zum internationalen Schauplatz der Mode. Die Toronto Fashion Week stellte etliche Modedesigner vor und bewies durch klare Schnitte, Muster und hochwertige Stoffe, dass Kanada alles andere als kalt und langweilig ist.


Bustle – Großstadtsafari un Hawaiihemden

Die Designer Shawn Hewson und Ruth Promislow vom Label Bustle präsentierten eine ihrer bisher besten Kollektionen auf dem Runway der Toronto Fashion Week 2013.Gezeigt wurde die S/S 14 Kollektion mit dem Thema Safari, welches sich an den Hosen und Sweatjacken zeigte. Die Hawaii-Jacken mit Blumenprints wirkten sehr modern und tragbar. Ein Highlight war auch noch, dass schwarze Hemden, sowie Clutches mit bunten Flugvögeln verziert, und somit zum Eyecatcher wurden.

Rudsak – Materialrmix und Coolness

Der Fashiondesigner Evik Asatoorian feierte dieses Jahr 20-jähriges Jubiläum in der Modebranche mit seinen Label Rudsak.
 Seine Show auf dem Runway zeigte dem Publikum einen Materialmix aus Python-, Krokodil- sowie Metallicstoffen. Diese präsentierten sich insbesondere in Röcken, Westen und Jacken. Die Farbpalette wurde überwiegend in schlichten Tönen wie grau, schwarz und teils braun gehalten.

Thomas Balint – Schwarz bleibt

Michael Thomas, der gebürtig aus Toronto stammt, überzeugte mit seiner SS 14 Collection mit schwarzen Minimalismus auf den Catwalk von Toronto. Sein neues Label Thomas Balint konzentrierte sich auf schlichte, schwarze Stoffe, welche teils oversized, in Kombination mit Skinny Jeans gezeigt wurden. Ungewöhnlich, für eine Frühjahr/Sommer-Kollektion auf Schwarz zu setzen, aber die Ästhetik des Labels überzeugt.

Joe Fresh – Kunst trifft Kommerz

Auf der Toronto Fashion Week 2013 sorgte ein Designer für ordentlich Rummel in den Medien:
 Joe Mimran, mit seinen populären Label Joe Fresh. Keiner versteht in Toronto mehr von der Verknüpfung zwischen Kunst und Handel als Joe. Er präsentierte seine Kollektion mit eleganten und Casual-looks,  setzte teils auf asiatisch Inspiriertes. Seine Signatur steht für preisgünstig, cool und tragbar

Travis Taddeo – Minimalistisches für den Herren

Der Designer Travis Taddeo bewies mit einer lässigen und athletischen Ready-to-wear-Kollektion sein Talent. Der Fokus lag auf seinen Jersey-Entwürfen und Leder. Seine minimalistischen, weißen Steppjacken und Hosen in gemischter Textur galten als Highlight seiner Kollektion und Show. Er präsentierte sowohl Damen-, als auch Herrenbekleidung auf den Catwalk.
